A project in mind?

Service quality

Accommodation quality and approval (labels):

The aim of approval (labels) is to guarantee a standard for the customer using a reference grid and by regular visits.

In order to prepare your project step by step, it is advisable to:
Choose the type of accommodation
Assemble the elements for its concretization
Equip the accommodation
Plan financing, regulation, taxation and insurance
Commercialize the accommodation

There are 2 labels which guarantee the quality of holiday rentals:

  • Clévacances label

The Clévacances label for rentals or rooms depends on 3 essential criteria:

The surroundings It is judged on the basis of the exterior design and setting of the accommodation (the building, surroundings, site, etc.) and complete absence of nuisance factors (noise, odours, utilities etc.). Interior design:

comfort, furniture, decoration, facilities (technical and sanitary), layout and definition of rooms in relation to the accommodation capacity, are all considered in the awarding of the Clévacances label. Reception and assistance:

whether by the owner or his selected representative, these are the indispensible elements for the awarding of the Clévacances France label. A well-received customer will contribute to your publicity while promoting the image of Clévacances.
Each category of accommodation corresponds to a price range adapted to the level of services.

Clévacances labelling procedure:
The owner contacts his local tourist office
A file is opened
A meeting is set up for a visit
The visit is carried out in the presence of the owner or his representative
The report of the visit is passed before a committee
The label is awarded for 3 years

The Pays Touristique de Brest Métropole Océane has been supporting its service providers in how to render their facilities accessible, since 2005.  On request, several providers benefitted from an accessibility level diagnostic of their facilities following the criteria set down by the national Tourism for the Disabled label for those who are motor or visually impaired, hard of hearing and mentally impaired.

This is a national label whose aim is to assist professionals in the tourism trade in their approach to reception, access and information, under the aegis of the Association Nationale de Tourisme et Handicaps (National Tourism for the Disabled Association). The 4 main types of disability are as follows: motor, auditory, visual and mental deficiency.

Sustainable tourism:

For several years, in terms of tourism, the Pays Touristiques (district tourist boards) network have undertaken to develop, assist and reference initiatives and projects that adopt an approach coherent with sustainable development.

  • What is sustainable tourism?

In the terms of the World Tourism Organization, "sustainable tourism is envisaged as the search for a balance between the economic and social elements related to the protection of natural resources while respecting culture, and the biological diversity of ecosystems. The aims are to generate economic and social development to the advantage of local populations and to manage natural and cultural resources. »

  • The involvement of Pays Touristiques

Through their action in this field, within an area with a historical, cultural and natural identity, the Pays Touristiques contributes daily to land management, as well as the preservation and improvement of the lifestyle of the local population. They guide and assist those involved in tourist projects. The regional stance on tourism, the conquest of new markets in eco-tourism and sustainable tourism are all part of their challenge.
