Taking the plunge

Climbing the Rocher de l'ImpƩratrice

Brest doesn't have any mountains, but it does have a superb climbing site. Le rocher de l'ImpĆ©ratrice is located in the Kererault woods, on an archaeological excavation site. It offers several routes of varying difficulty, accessible even to beginners, with the shortest culminating at around 12 meters. After the effort, there's the reward: this exceptional view over the Ɖlorn and the harbor is one of the most beautiful vantage points in Brest.

Did you know? Empress EugƩnie, wife of Napoleon III, is said to have lost a priceless ring here!

Paddle in total freedom

Paddle in the Rade de Brest

Want to discover Brest from the sea while enjoying the thrill of paddling? Treat yourself to a paddleboarding session, with rental equipment or accompanied by an instructor if you're a beginner. Stand on your board and let yourself be carried along by the calm waters of the bay, paddling to steer you. This nautical activity, accessible to all, even children, is an excellent way to enjoy the pleasures of the water, even if you're not very athletic. The ideal time: at the end of the day, to enjoy the magical light of the setting sun!

Catching the wave

Surfing at Petit Minou

When you think of outdoor sports on the FinistĆØre coast, you immediately think of surfing, an institution here! The Petit Minou beach is one of the best surf spots in the Brest region. More experienced surfers will enjoy a good session on the east side of Le Phare. If you're a beginner, you're better off on the west side, where the waves are less powerful, but the surfing thrills are still there. Practical: parking is close by and the beach is equipped with showers. What's more, it's a great opportunity to discover the incredible Pointe du Minou !
